About Brazil

OUR CENTRES AND BRAZIL

The beautiful city of Fortaleza is a desired location for Brazilians who flock from the southern states to enjoy their holiday here. With over 350 miles of beaches in the state area and a penchant for fitness, the city is lively and happy. Fortaleza also benefits from three major universities and several conference centres that regularly hold international events throughout the year. The standard of hotel accommodation is very good with several five star and over 40 four star hotels all at an attractive price. Campinas and Sao Paulo are sophisticated cities with a high international standard of hotels. With a close proximity to the major financial and domestic markets we are able to offer access to key businesses within the region.

In 2005 AT Kearney published the following attrition rates for offshore technology suppliers:

offshoreSuppliers

We are proud to have attrition rates below 7% in the Northeast of Brazil. This is because we care for our people and because of where they live.

So have you ever asked:

What do Brazilians know about technology?

The internal IT market is worth in excess of $9bn (USD) annually and finance systems in Brazil are amongst the most advanced in the world. Brazil is one of the few countries that have full electronic voting for elections and that with a population of over 180 million people! AT Kearney recently position Brazil 10th globally for conditions favouring IT Off-shoring.

So who is doing IT work in Brazil already?

Lots of people including Cadbury Schwepps, PWC, Unilever, HSBC, Siemens, Motorola and Endesa.

Isn't Brazil dangerous?

Brazil is a huge country roughly the size of Western and Eastern Europe jointly. The problems in the shanty towns of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo are well documented and these areas can be dangerous. However as a business traveler you would no more be visiting these areas than you would dangerous areas of your own city. The distance from Fortaleza to Rio de Janeiro is the same distance as travelling from Paris to Libya and the difference between the two is as remarkable. Like all major cities Fortaleza suffers from some crime, this is however confined to local poorer areas and will not trouble the business traveler.

What are salaries like?

The Northeast of Brazil can compete with India for rate card prices due to the low cost of living in the area. The excellent quality of resource and the higher capacity in the South of Brazil means that we are able to meet your needs within short time frames.

Is the education any good?

The World Economic Forum rates IT training in Brazil as better than Poland. Fortaleza has three major universities and several other colleges in the city offering IT education to degree standard. The city is also home to one of the few Brazilian companies operating at CMMI level 5. The finest technology University in South America is based at Campinas and boast one of the leading telco R&D centres globally.

What are other conditions like?

The Economist rates Brazil better than Indian and China for: Political Stability, Terrorist Risk, Infrastructure Quality and IPR protection. In fact they rate Brazil on a par with Canada in all of these areas!
